Revolutionary Drug Trial Could Mean New Hope for Scleroderma Treatment
Are you tired of tackling one symptom after another with no end in sight? And the best you can hope for is that your suffering will plateau. Never are you given the hope of reversal/remission. Why is that? Because treatments today target symptoms, not the cause.
Today's episode is about a drug trial for a treatment intended to do accomplish what we're all waiting for: disabling the illness at its root cause. Watch the video and head on over the the link to find out more!

At times like this it's easy to neglect the basics. Personal care often takes a back seat under "normal" circumstances living with an autoimmune disease. But now that the whole world has gotten an idea of the isolation and anxiety autoimmune disease can generate, has it become even easier to neglect our personal maintenance? Hello Melissa. Are you familiar with the LGS Protocol? or the Coimbra Protocol. In Brazil there are many patients that have improved significantly after undergoing a anti-inflammatory diet alongside HDVD (High Dose Vitamin D) therapy. The studies done on microbiome analysis have shown many root causes and explain the pathogenesis. I highly recommend looking into it. Best regards, Dr Beltran.

    Thank you for this. But not sure what’s the exact name of this study really and you can only find more if sign up for it. I have read about a new drug named FT011 medication and it’s on trial 3 atm and focuses on anifibrosis. The previous 2 trials they been successful so I pray to God to help them and this can be a new treatment that can help us more than anything.

      Hey Angela. The researchers are using a patient recruiting agency called Splash. I suppose they want to pre-qualify candidates before giving specifics on the organization running the study. But they have a number on their website if you have questions: splashclinical.com/em_case_study/scleroderma/

    So glad to find your channel! I have been recently diagnosed with scleroderma and it’s done a number on my lungs. I hope to be added to the transplant list soon. I love your positive attitude even when facing hardships. You’re truly inspiring ❤

    Nice to see you..but sad about your current diagnosis. 😢. You're an inspiration. You're now in my prayers. My lung disease hasn't progressed too much. Yhe loss of hand function is one of most regrettable aspects. SSc specialist says previous rheumatologist failed to diagnose RA.. hands disfigured and horrible thumbs arthritis (btw didn't you like arthritis surgery??). At least im able to walk. But i miss being able to dress myself adequately. I have a home aide 3x week. You have a great attitude. God bless you. Pajamas are Great...but its very difficult and painful for me to dress. I haven't worn non jogging pants in long time.

    • @RainbowInBloom
      @RainbowInBloom 3 месяца назад

      Hi Michael. Good news that your lung disease is stable. We have to appreciate the small wins. Unfortunately, sometimes we get the information we need too late. My brother always asks me if I got "a second opinion" when I tell him something. LOL But that's probably the ideal thing to do. But exhausting! I did have hand surgery to repair a slipped tendon in my right hand. Right now I'm testing out a hand massager. I think I'll do a review on it.

    How hard is it to get disability for CREST syndrome aka limited scleroderma? I was diagnosed in early 2019, all I was suffering from was raynauds, but every since early last year my hands are completely full of calcinosis and minor things like driving, sweeping etc... are a heavy chore. Not to mention the pain and severe stiffness.

    Melissa my provider insisted that I go on disability and eventually SSI. I’m mentally not ready but I have been having issues making it to work because it’s been getting harder for me everyday. Are you still on disability and if so did you have a difficult time going on disability because mentally you’ve always been independent, i think that’s my major issues. Good bless

    • @RainbowInBloom
      @RainbowInBloom Год назад

      Wow. Good question. I worked until the bitter end! LOL I don't remember all the details but I think I was basically at death's door when I went on disability and only because of a social worker at the hospital. I might not be remembering everything correctly but I know I worked then went to maritime school until it almost killed me. I get it. But I have talked a lot on this channel about listening to your body and doing what you need to to stay as well as possible. I would apply and just have it as a backup just in case. You can save the extra money to rely on if things get worse. 🙏🏿
